Newcastle Tides was written in 1996 for the Newcastle NSW Foreshore Illuminations. Seated on a pontoon in the middle of the artificial lake, I played while dancers performed. The wireless microphone was a little dodgy, but the lights were memorable on a warm clear-sky night.
In the sheet music you’ll find two versions of Newcastle Tides, the second containing an ossia that adds harmony to a slower middle section. The featured audio is the original version.
